Eighteen of the 19 crypto prop firms that publish a country list accept Indian traders at PropRubric’s last check; Kraken Prop is the exception, and E8 Markets caps its E8 One account at $200,000 for India. One accepted firm, FTMO, appears on the Reserve Bank of India’s Alert List of unauthorised forex trading platforms, at entry 13 of the list dated 19 November 2025.
Cointracts is the one firm that takes Indian rupees, through UPI, while every other firm sells in dollars or euros by card or crypto and pays out in stablecoins, through Rise or by bank.
Whether trading with an offshore prop firm is legal for an Indian resident has no RBI ruling of its own, and this page sets out what the RBI and the Income Tax Act do say. Use these terms before you choose a firm from the shortlist of best crypto prop firms.
| pay in rupees | published list, stablecoin payouts | widest published access |
|---|---|---|
| Cointracts: INR through UPI at checkout, crypto too; publishes no country list; from $24.90 | Breakout: India not on its list, USDC payouts on demand from $50; from $20 | Velotrade: a sanctions-only list, USDC or USDT on Arbitrum; from $40 |

Listed by the clarity of their India access first, open with no limit before a cap, an RBI entry and an unpublished list, and the entry price second. The ring is each firm's PropRubric score out of 10, which sets the order of the main ranking only.

The table shows ten of the firms open to Indian traders, with every crypto-first firm whose published list leaves India out and the multi-asset firms most searched in India; each firm’s evidence and check date are in its row tooltip.
Which crypto prop firms accept Indian traders?
PropRubric found 18 crypto prop firms whose published country list does not name India, out of 19 firms that publish a list at PropRubric’s last check, and eight more that publish no list at all. The 19 published lists split into three groups.
- Open with no limit: Breakout, Velotrade, Mubite, HyroTrader, Propr, HyperPNL, SizeProp, Upscale, Fundedbit, PropW, The5ers, BrightFunded, AquaFunded, Funded Trader Markets, Goat Funded Trader and FundingPips do not name India.
- Open with a cap: E8 Markets limits its E8 One account to $200,000 for traders in India, Vietnam, Kenya and Indonesia.
- Not named, but on the RBI’s list: FTMO’s list does not name India, while the RBI’s Alert List names FTMO.
Kraken Prop is the one firm with a published list that excludes India, beside Canada and the United Kingdom. The firms with a published list and no RBI entry are the clearest starting point, and the cheapest crypto-first one among them is Breakout, whose full record is in the Breakout review.
Is trading with a crypto prop firm legal in India?
The RBI’s Alert List is the closest thing to an official position on prop firms, and it is a list of names, not a ruling on the business model. Finance Magnates and Business Standard both reported FundedNext and Smart Prop Trader among the names added to the list, which shows that the RBI treats at least some prop firms as unauthorised forex platforms. A crypto prop firm account is simulated, so no foreign currency or coin is bought on the trader’s behalf, and the trader pays a fee for an evaluation.
Whether that structure falls under FEMA’s limits on forex dealing has not been decided publicly, so the risk may differ by firm and by product. You should read the current Alert List before paying any firm, and you should take advice from a lawyer in India if the amounts are large.
Tax is the second rule. India’s Income Tax Act taxes income from virtual digital assets at 30% under section 115BBH, with 1% tax deducted at source on transfers under section 194S, both added by the Finance Act 2022.
A prop firm payout is a fee for a service, often paid in USDT, and whether the income counts as business income, other income or a virtual digital asset transfer when the USDT is sold is not settled in any public guidance PropRubric found.
You should keep every invoice and payout record and ask a chartered accountant how to report them. The tax rules in general are on the page are crypto prop firm payouts taxed.
How do crypto prop firms for Indian traders compare?
Crypto prop firms for Indian traders compare on three axes with a different leader on each. Among those firms, Cointracts leads on payment with rupees through UPI, Breakout leads on a published list with stablecoin payouts and no RBI entry, and Mubite leads on the shortest restriction list, three names, with Velotrade’s sanctions-only list next.
The five sections below cover Cointracts, Breakout, Velotrade, E8 Markets and FTMO in the same order: origin and category, the unique attribute, the price from, the India rule with its exact value, the catch, and the links.
Cointracts: Rupees Through UPI
Cointracts is a crypto-first prop firm run by Cointracts Prop FZ-LLC in Dubai. The unique attribute of Cointracts is the payment route: it takes Indian rupees through UPI beside crypto, the only firm in the census to do so. Prices at Cointracts start at $24.90 for a $2,000 2-step.
The India rule at Cointracts is an unpublished country list, so its access rests on the UPI checkout rather than on a written list. The catch at Cointracts is a Trustpilot score of 2.1 from 96 reviews and payout timelines that differ across its own pages. Read the Cointracts review.
Breakout: A Published List, USDC on Demand
Breakout is a crypto-first prop firm owned by Kraken, with evaluations run by Breakout Trading Group, LLC in Delaware. The unique attribute of Breakout is on-demand USDC payouts from $50 of profit. Prices at Breakout start at $20 for a $5,000 Turbo.
The India rule at Breakout is a published list that names Afghanistan, Ethiopia, Russia and other sanctioned countries but not India. The catch at Breakout is that Kraken Prop, the same programme sold through Kraken, excludes India, so the storefront decides access. Read the Breakout review.
Velotrade: A Sanctions-Only List
Velotrade is a crypto-first prop firm run by Velotrade Re Limited in Hong Kong. The unique attribute of Velotrade is its list, which names only sanctioned jurisdictions: North Korea, Iran, Syria, Cuba and three occupied regions of Ukraine. Prices at Velotrade start at $40 for a $5,000 Pro 1-step. The India rule at Velotrade is open access, with payouts in USDC or USDT on Arbitrum. The catch at Velotrade is a cap on the first two payouts of 20 times the challenge fee. Read the Velotrade review.
E8 Markets: Open, With a $200,000 Cap on E8 One
E8 Markets is a multi-asset prop firm run by E8 Funding LLC in the United States. The unique attribute of E8 Markets is a published cap by country: E8 One is limited to $200,000 in India. Prices at E8 Markets start at $28 for a $5,000 E8 Pro Perpetual at list.
The India rule at E8 Markets is open access below the cap, with identity checks before purchase. The catch at E8 Markets is that payouts go through Rise, so the rupee arrives through a payment provider rather than straight to a wallet. Read the E8 Markets crypto trading page.
FTMO: Open by Its List, Named by the RBI
FTMO is a multi-asset prop firm based in Prague, Czech Republic. The unique attribute of FTMO for Indian traders is the conflict between two lists: its own does not name India, and the RBI’s Alert List names FTMO at entry 13. Prices at FTMO start at €79 for a $10,000 1-Step. The India rule at FTMO is open access with 30 crypto CFDs at 1:3.33 leverage. The catch at FTMO is the RBI listing, which a trader in India should weigh before paying. Read the FTMO crypto trading page.
How do you choose a crypto prop firm in India?
You choose a crypto prop firm in India by checking the RBI’s list before the firm’s own, and five checks cover it.
- Check the RBI Alert List for the firm’s name. The list dated 19 November 2025 names FTMO, FundedNext and Smart Prop Trader. Best on this list: Breakout and Velotrade, open to India and not on the RBI’s list.
- Check what the firm asks for at KYC. E8 Markets verifies before purchase; Goat Funded Trader at the first payout. Best on this list: E8 Markets, where a failed check costs nothing.
- Check the payout rail. A USDT or USDC payout has to be converted to rupees, which is a crypto transfer for tax purposes; a Rise payout can arrive by bank. Best on this list: Breakout, whose USDC payouts start at $50.
- Keep the invoice and every payout record. The tax treatment is not settled, so records decide what you can prove. Best on this list: firms that send a payout certificate or ledger entry, such as Dolvero and Velotrade.
- Avoid any “prop firm” that asks you to fund a trading account. A prop challenge charges a fee for a simulated account; a request to deposit funds for trading is a different product and the pattern the RBI warns about. Best on this list: every firm in the table, all of which sell a fee-based evaluation.
The order of the firms above follows the clarity of their India access first, open with no limit before a cap, an RBI entry and an unpublished list, and the entry price second. The method behind that order is on the page about how PropRubric verifies crypto prop firm data. The firms above accept Indian traders; the ones that don’t are worth knowing too, because one of them shares its programme with a firm that does.
Which crypto prop firms do not accept Indian traders?
One crypto prop firm with a published list excludes India, and eight leave the question open.
- Kraken Prop excludes Canada, India and the United Kingdom, while Breakout, the same programme under its own brand, does not name India.
- E8 Markets sells E8 One to Indian traders only up to $200,000.
- Crypto Fund Trader, Bitfunded, Klein Funding, WenCrypto, Cointracts, TradeXProp and Dolvero publish no country list on the pages PropRubric read. RebelsFunding’s terms name nine restricted jurisdictions “and other countries”, a partial country list without India.
The access rules for every other country are on the page of crypto prop firm country access, and the rupee payment route is compared with other crypto checkouts on the list of prop firms that accept crypto payment.
