Crypto Prop Firm News: Every Rule Change, Dated and Sourced

PropRubric has logged 246 changes at 28 crypto prop firms since its first check on 29 September 2026, and the newest rows, dated 23 Oct 2026, sit at the top of the table. 58 of those rows are changes the firms made, 48 are values PropRubric corrected and 140 are values it added. Every row shows the old value, the new value, the source page, the date and whether the firm says the change applies to accounts already bought.
This page holds the current month; each earlier month is its own archive page, linked under the table. A rule change can change your choice of firm, so the log is the memory behind all crypto prop firms: a value on a firm page is only as good as the date next to it, and this page is where the dates come from. Rows from the first month are on the September 2026 archive.

186 changes in October 2026, each with its source and date · RSS
Months: October 2026 · September 2026 and earlier
The log is complete at PropRubric’s last check, and the firm-side rows, labelled “Firm change” in the type column, are the ones a trader who already bought an account needs to read first.
Which crypto prop firms changed their rules recently?
HyroTrader, FTMO, SizeProp, Kraken Prop, Goat Funded Trader and FundingPips changed a rule, a model or a price in October 2026, and each change means something different for a trader who holds or wants an account.
- HyroTrader relaunched its programme on terms dated 29 September 2026 and removed its 3% per-trade loss cap. The mandatory stop-loss had already gone in September; now no single position carries a loss cap at all, and the only exposure rules left on funded accounts are a total margin of at most 25% of the initial balance and a total notional of at most 2× the balance, with one warning before a second breach fails the account. The same relaunch added a Zero-Step model (one trading day, 3% daily and 5% maximum loss, a fixed 80% split and a non-refundable fee), made the daily limit static at 3%, 4% or 5% by model, removed the Swing drawdown upgrade and the discretionary real-capital stage, closed Cleo to new purchases and added BloFin at up to 150x on BTC and ETH.
- HyroTrader’s payout terms moved on 7 October 2026: within 24 hours instead of 12, and a 5% cap per request. A funded trader is paid at most 5% of the initial balance per request, profit above the cap is annulled when the account resets after each payout, and the firm’s own advice is to request at 5% and keep trading.
- FTMO replaces the 1-Step Best Day Rule with a Consistency rule for orders created on or after 12 October 2026, 09:00 (GMT+3). The old rule compared the best day with the profit of positive days; the new one compares it with total profit, losing days included; orders placed earlier keep the Best Day Rule, and the firm states that neither rule can be breached.
- SizeProp put its $200,000 Degen account on sale at $1,020 on 11 October 2026. The size had shown “coming soon”; it carries the Degen rules of the smaller sizes (8% target, 2% daily, 3% maximum), while the 1-Step $200,000 still shows “coming soon”.
- Kraken Prop’s Lite account ($139 for $50,000, limited to 1,500 places) is sold out. The release page shows “Get Lite (sold out)”, so a buyer is left with the standard Kraken Prop ladder.
- Goat Funded Trader added five countries to its restricted list on 1 October 2026, and FundingPips’ free trial now states it has “no profit entitlement and no path to a Master Account”. Bolivia, Bosnia, Laos, Papua New Guinea and Ukraine take Goat’s list to 32 countries with none removed, and a FundingPips trial trader can no longer treat the trial as a route to a payout.
Every other row is a correction or an addition by PropRubric, and the split matters enough to have its own section below. What makes a row a “change” at all is defined first, and every rule in the log is compared across firms in the table of crypto prop firm rules compared.
What counts as a rule change?
A rule change is any change to the eight rule kinds (targets, daily and maximum drawdown, loss caps, consistency, time, leverage, strategy restrictions). In scope beside the rules, for a change to count, are challenge and add-on prices, the models on sale, payout terms (split, schedule, currency, minimum), access conditions (countries, platforms, KYC timing) and the firm’s status (active, paused, closed, unreachable).
Out of scope are promotions and discount codes, interface changes, blog posts and marketing copy that do not alter a value PropRubric records. A row in the log is one value at one firm, so a firm that rewrites its whole rulebook produces one row per field, as The5ers’ nine corrections did on 29 September 2026.
Do rule changes apply to accounts you already bought?
No, most rule changes are not stated to apply to accounts you already bought, because most firms’ terms do not say. Of the 28 crypto prop firms PropRubric tracks, 2 state that accounts keep the rules in force when they were bought, 2 state that a change applies to existing accounts, and the rest don’t say.
- Rules locked at purchase: HyperPNL’s terms say purchased accounts keep the rules in force at purchase, except platform-wide changes such as leverage and listings; Propr’s say active funded accounts keep the rules in effect at activation unless otherwise stated, and the firm publishes a changelog.
- Change applies to existing accounts: Breakout’s leverage announcement of 12 August 2026 states that the changes “apply to both evaluation and funded accounts”, and when the firm withdrew its 2-step product it kept existing accounts on their original terms, so its practice runs both ways and it says which each time. Tradeify 247’s terms say the version of its Trading Rules in effect at the time of the trading activity governs that activity, with material changes listed in a change log.
- Not stated: the other 24 firms, including HyroTrader, whose October relaunch rows record no statement either way about accounts bought earlier.
Retroactive changes are a live trust topic across the wider prop industry. Finance Magnates reported a backlash in December 2025 when the prop firm FundingTicks added a one-minute minimum hold for scalpers, raised its daily profit requirements and cut profit splits on existing accounts. Tareq Sikder reported on 19 January 2026 that the firm was winding down with its Trustpilot score fallen from 4.1 to 3.2.
A firm that states a rule lock in its terms may still change platform-wide settings, as HyperPNL’s exception shows, so “locked” means the account’s own rules, not the market’s. Not every row is a firm’s change; some are ours.
How is a rule change different from a PropRubric correction?
A rule change is a crypto prop firm changing what it publishes, and a PropRubric correction is PropRubric having recorded something the firm never published. The type column labels every row, and 48 corrections and 140 additions by PropRubric sit beside 58 firm changes in the 246 rows.
| row | what happened | type |
|---|---|---|
| The5ers, 29 Sep 2026, nine fields | the first pass read an outdated page; the current terms give a UK entity, other fees and other drawdown values | PropRubric correction |
| Crypto Fund Trader, 30 Sep 2026, challenge fees | the 1-phase and 2-phase price ranges had been stored under each other’s labels | PropRubric correction |
| HyroTrader, 29 Sep 2026, stop-loss | the firm removed the requirement; review pages still described it as active | Firm change |
| HyroTrader, 8 Oct 2026, per-trade loss cap | the relaunch removed the 3% cap; this page had described it as staying | Firm change |
| RebelsFunding, 30 Sep 2026, payout methods | the draft payouts list had stated that no crypto rail was published; the FAQ lists a supported cryptocurrency method | PropRubric correction |
| Upscale, 30 Sep 2026, Turbo prices | the draft instant-funding page had estimated Turbo at about 1.1× the Basic price; the FAQ ladder puts it at 3.8× on a $10,000 account | PropRubric correction |
A correction is shown on the firm’s page as a dated note under the value as well as here, and the policy for how corrections are reported, checked and displayed is the PropRubric corrections policy. Additions, where a field that was empty gets its first value, are labelled as additions and counted with corrections, because in both cases the firm’s page did not change.
How can you follow crypto prop firm rule changes?
You can follow crypto prop firm rule changes in three ways, and all three carry the same rows as this page.
- RSS: the feed at
/changes/feed.xmlpublishes every new row with its firm, field, old and new value and source. - Per-firm filter: the filter above narrows the table to one firm, and the same rows appear in the “What changed” box on that firm’s page.
- The PropRubric account on X: each verified firm-side change is posted with its source, and corrections are posted when they change a value that a page had shown.
Rows enter the log through the re-check cadence, weekly for the reviewed firms and monthly for all, and the cadence, the evidence rule and what a saved copy proves are described on the page about how PropRubric verifies crypto prop firm data.
